MY STORY

Why I decided to build this.

For most of my career, I’ve worked behind the numbers. Closing the books, building reports, and helping leadership understand what was really happening in their business.

Outside of work, I kept seeing small business owners stuck in the same spot. They knew their numbers mattered, they just didn’t know where to start. The software felt expensive and complicated, and the free trackers online were just lists of expenses that never told them how their business was actually doing.

So in 2025, I started building the templates I wished they had. Set up the way I’d keep books at work, but simple enough for anyone to use. I put the first few on Etsy, not really sure what to expect.

Hundreds of orders later, InsightSheets has grown into a full library of bookkeeping templates, and the goal is still the same.

Give small business owners a real bookkeeping system, without the complexity of accounting software or another monthly subscription.
